Blanca Busquets Oliu (Barcelona, 1961) is a Catalan writer, radio scriptwriter and Catalan philologist. She lives between Barcelona and Cantonigròs. At the age of twelve she wrote her first story, and from then on, writing became the central focus of her life. In addition to participating in reading clubs, she has given presentations and conferences throughout Catalonia, several cities in Spain, and in cities such as Alghero, Moscow, Kraków, Leipzig, Berlin, Turin... She participated in the Warsaw Book Fair 2016 as part of the Catalan delegation of writers.
She has worked in Catalunya Ràdio since she was twenty-five, and also seven years in Televisió de Catalunya. She writes articles for the digital newspaper Osona.com She is the author of novels such as El jersei (Rosa dels vents 2006), La nevada del cucut (Rosa dels Vents 2010, Llibreter Prize 2011), La casa del silenci (Rosa dels Vents 2013, Alghero Donna Award 2015 - awarded in Rome), La fugitiva (Proa, 2018), Constel·lacions (Proa, 2022) or Habitacions Compartides (Proa, 2026). She has also published the essay Collsacabra (Una biografia) (Símbol, 2025). Her books have been translated into a dozen languages, including Spanish, French, Italian, Russian, German, Albanian and English. Since 2025, she is part of the Governing Council of the Biblioteca de Catalunya.
